There can be a number of reasons you might have for requiring blinds, and depending on your needs some types of blinds may be more suitable than others , so to help guide you in the right direction please use our quick guide below: To reduce glare, use rollers or verticals with a reflective coating or Soltis screen fabrics. Heat gain is best reduced with venetian blinds (in a light colour) or reflective coated rollers and verticals. For simple privacy without much expense, we recommend roller blinds in a solid weave fabric or venetian blinds angled to prevent inwards vision. For advanced room-darkening, go for opaque roller blinds or fully-framed blackout blinds. For enough light reduction to enable overhead projectors to be used, we recommend reflective coated roller blinds. For high level windows and skylights the additional upfront cost of motorisation will be more than offset by the ease of use and long life of the blinds compared to manual blinds. In mobile classrooms rollers or venetian blinds are more suitable than vertical blinds due to the lack of window reveals. Where blinds are likely to be subject to extreme misuse we recommend Soltis screen roller blinds. | ![]() |
